About

Vadim Pugin (b. 1986, USSR) is a New York–based multidisciplinary artist whose practice merges the tangible and the digital. Bridging ceramic sculptures, found objects, and algorithms into total installations that re-cut the fabric of the present, he challenges conventional notions of presence and perception. Pugin earned a master’s degree from the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU) and studied contemporary art at the Learning Environment school. He further refined his approach under the mentorship of Dmitry Morozov (::vtol::), Alexander Povzner, and Arseny Zhilyaev.

Before dedicating himself fully to the arts, Pugin spent 16 years in the AdTech industry, gaining a deep understanding of emerging AI, big data, and surveillance technologies. Among his recent achievements are winning the 2023 Vyksa Festival’s Open Competition for Urban Sculptures with Resitor Group and exhibiting at the Tretyakov Gallery’s IX Moscow International Biennale of Contemporary Art.
